Midterm

This was the musician wanted ad. I chose this because it shows the use of clipping paths, objects with drop shadows, and work with font and letter spacing. I added the drop shadow to the clipping path image as well as adding the grey box behind it with a shadow to create depth. I also scaled up the font in the header and the body. The last thing I did was to add a bleed and add the partial underlines to the headline to add emphasis but without using the typical text underline.

These two pages were from our stop smoking pamphlet. I chose these because they are the best example I have that utilizes everything from changing fonts and font sizes to using spot colors and text wraps and pull-quotes as well as using character styles for sub headers and importing pictures and using a grid. I made some minor changes to the positioning of the sub headers and text boxes as well as scaling up the newsletter title.

This is my photoshop fix project. I chose to make some slight touchups around the neck area before posting but that was all I changed.

I chose this for my first illustrator choice because it was one of my most successful attempts at recreating accurately what we were given. The things I chose to change include removing a few outlines around specific shapes, adjusting the colors to resemble the original more, and reshaping some of the color shapes.
This is my second choice from Illustrator. I was able to match the outer color on the gradient of the circle with the background color in the original version but one of the things I changed before using this in my midterm portfolio was adjusting the background to a darker color that more resembled the original. So I also changed the outer color of the circle to match the new background. After that I went through and rearranged the berries a little bit and lightened the inside of the circle a little as well.
